Leviticus 23:27
Be careful to celebrate the Day of Atonement on the tenth day of that same month—nine days after the Festival of Trumpets. You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the LORD”
The “DAY OF ATONEMENT” is a holy day that God established as a covenant of repentance and promise for us and a time to release the fullness of His blessings and presence in our lives…
God’s heart carries an intimate desire for fellowship with us…
During this time let’s embrace the opportunity to honour our covenant and connection to Him and all the grace that is provided through the blood of Jesus.
This is a divine time…to “MEET HIM”…to be “at-one” in spirit with Him and to honour the supreme sacrifice He paid for us.
Meet me and I’ll meet you in the quiet of this room… I’ll “close the door” on life Lord for a moment with you…meet me and I’ll meet you in the quiet of this room….you’ll show your face in this holy place… and “I’ll KNOW you”…
It’s a time to be purposeful in our pursuit of God!! It’s a time to truly meet Him and come to KNOW him in a greater and more intimate way…
God is saying… time to stop…time to reflect…time to search within..time to stay and pray…stay the course…pray my purposes and remember I AM God, I AM “sovereign”
It’s a time to look ahead, consecrate ourselves ..and see where we missed it..where we’re we’ve been out of alignment with God’s purpose and instruction… it’s time to look at ourselves… it’s time to look at everything in our life..
Are we really in covenant…are we honouring God…Is our house in order… is our heart and our life right before him …do we treat others the way we should… Are we a true “follower” or a carnal Christian… a “believer” who says and does whatever we want to?
The Day of Atonement is sacred and ageless and it is to be honoured throughout all generations. It’s a day to repent and turn from wrong and sinful behaviours…a day to deny ourselves…and draw closer to Him honouring Him with our life and our substance…
Leviticus 26:34 tells us that
It’s an everlasting statute for us to make atonement
